Africa Biotechnology Stakeholders Forum

ABSF aims to create an enabling environment in which Africa can participate and benefit from biotechnology in a responsible and sustainable manner. The association — through the dissemination of information — aims to enhance an understanding and awareness of all aspects of biotechnology including bio-safety and intellectual property rights. The news and features section mostly contains short information and opinion pieces giving perspectives of scientists and policy-makers in Africa.

AfricaBio

AfricaBio is a non-governmental organisation for the various stakeholders involved in the food, feed and fibre sectors within South Africa. It seeks to promote the safe, ethical and responsible research, development and application of biotechnology and its products. The immediate objectives of AfricaBio are: informing and lobbying key stakeholders (including government and industry); providing accurate information on biotechnology to the media and general public; providing international organisations lobbying for or against biotechnology with information on the need for this technology in Africa. 'BioLines' is AfricaBio’s monthly guide to what is topical.

Indian Science Communication Society

ISCOS is a non-governmental organisation that brings together science communicators and scientists who are keen to popularise science. The website describes the government of India's one-year training course on science journalism. 

Jamaican Science Research Council

The SRC is Jamaica's primary agency for fostering Jamaican research and promoting its applications. It runs seven research units, from microbiology to wastewater management,  and offers services ranging from training to tissue culture and laboratory analyses. The SRC website hosts four databases: the skills bank, plant gene bank, plant information, and library collection.

PCST Academy

The Communication of Science and Technology network (PCST) Academy is responsible for the creation of the documentary basis of the Public Communication of Science and Technology network (PCST) and its main task is the selection and organized collection of reports on particular topics in the field of communication and social understanding of science.

The Arab Regional Network for Science and Technology Management

STEMARN is a non-profit organisation, founded by UNESCO. Headquartered at the Arabian Gulf University of Bahrain, it provides a forum for promoting regional technology development and science and technology management.

STEMARN carries out training programmes and studies into Arab science and technology. The network is funded by a number of donors from the Arab world, namely the Arab Fund for Social and Economic Development and the Kuwait Foundation for Advancement of Science.
